Last night, newly reunited Britpop group Pulp played in the U.S. for the first time since the Nineties. And according to Rob Sheffield, it was undoubtedly a gig worth attending.
Pulp began their reunion tour almost a year ago, but it wasn’t until last night at New York’s Radio City Music Hall that the group reconnected with their American fans. The show began in a peculiar manner, with frontman Jarvis Cocker reciting lines from The Great Gatsby and throwing candy bars into the audience. Nevertheless, Pulp was able to make their two-hour-long performance a “lovefest.”

Digital music sales top physical sales
According to a Nielsen and Billboard report, digital music purchases accounted for 50.3% of music sales in 2011. Digital sales were up 8.4% from the previous year, while physical album sales declined 5%.
